Obituary of Katherine LaBelle

Waterloo - Katherine Eva LaBelle, 90, of 30 W. Main St., Apt. 211, died Tuesday (January 21, 2014) at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic in Clifton Springs. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (Jan. 24) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 25) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Seneca Ambulance, 1645 North Rd., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Katie was born June 12, 1923 in Cumberland, MD., the daughter of Kelly and Lucille Long Bennett. She began employment with Guaranteed Parts in Seneca Falls for 13 years, then she was employed for 13 years with Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. Katie was employed last for Seneca County Senior Center Nutrition Site for five years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. She is survived by sons, Thomas (Carol) LaBelle of Romulus, Terrance (Ruth) LaBelle of Waterloo, and Timothy (Debbie) LaBelle of Redfield; daughter-in-law, Connie LaBelle of Geneva; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, George J. LaBelle, Sr.; one son, George "Ted" J. LaBelle, Jr.; one granddaughter, Dorothy "Dodie" Evans; and brothers, Clyde and Kenneth Bennett; and sister-in-law, Anita Bennett.
