Waterloo - Richard Elmer Shedd, 85, formerly of 17 Carlton Rd., died Thursday (January 16, 2014) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 1) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice.

Richard was born October 13, 1928 in Rochester, the son of Dr, Elmer M. and Louise Schlegle Shedd. He was a 1947 graduate of Benjamin Franklin School in Rochester. Dick was also a 1950 graduate of R.I.T. with an A.A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and in 1980 graduated from Cayuga Community College with an A. A. degree in Liberal Arts. He proudly served his country from 1951 to 1954 in the U. S. Navy. After being employed for many years with the D.D.S.O. in Wolcott, he retired.

He is survived by sister, Betty (Eric) Stahl of Rochester; lifelong friend, Gerald (Patricia) Gilmore of Hilton; longtime friends, Dale (Ruth) Wagner of Waterloo.
