WATERLOO — Hilda Viola Hanselman, 88, passed away Tuesday (December 17, 2024) at the Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, NY.

Family and friends may call 11 AM to 12 PM Saturday (December 28, 2024) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Hilda was born August 10, 1936 in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Henry A. and Emma Schultz Howard. She was a 1954 graduate of Waterloo High School, and a 1955 graduate of Beaux Arts in Syracuse, NY. Hilda began working in 1955 for Helen Cannon, and later took over her business. She owned and operated Hilda's Beauty Salon for 50 years. She also taught Junior Church and played piano for the evening services at Waterloo Baptist Church. Hilda and her husband, Bill, greatly enjoyed their motor home, traveling around the United States and Europe, and 13 times to Hawaii.

Hilda is survived by nephews Stephan (Edith) Arndt of Waterloo, NY, Samuel (Kim) Cohen and Alex (Sarah) Cohen of Philadelphia, PA, David (Trish) Brand of Buffalo, NY, Timothy (Anne) Brand of Charlotte, NC, and Mark Miller, and Keith Miller of Waterloo, NY; nieces Kathy (Dan) Ely of Rochester, NY, Rebecca Ozolins and Holly (Kenny) Hancharik of Waterloo, NY and Kristy Labelle of LA; many great-nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law Peter Brand of Buffalo, NY and Glenn Hanselman of LA.

She was predeceased by her loving husband William "Bill" Hanselman in 1998; her parents; sisters Louise Arndt, Dorothy Brand and Anna Cohen; niece Wendy Miller; and brother-in-law Kenneth Miller.
