Seneca Falls - Cynthia "Cyndee" Ann Uerkvitz, 68, of 142 W. Bayard St., died Thursday (December 12, 2013) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 15) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The service will be 2 p.m. Monday (Dec. 16) at the funeral home. Rev. Sarah West, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross of the Finger Lakes or United Way of Seneca County. Cyndee was born June 12, 1945, in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of Walter and Evelyn Deim Gaun. She was a graduate of Mynderse Academy. Cyndee was employed over the years for various businesses as a bookkeeper. She loved to volunteer for the American Red Cross of the Finger Lakes and United Way of Seneca County. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Good Sam Club. She is survived by her loving husband, James C. Uerkvitz; step-sons, James C. (Dar) Uerkvitz of Newark and Richard Uerkvitz of Suwanee, GA; four step-grandchildren; mother, Evelyn Gaun of Seneca Falls; brother, Walter "Tom" (Joy) Gaun of Seneca Falls; Aunt Cyndee will be greatly missed by niece, Tedra Gerstner of Canandaigua; nephew, Thomas Gaun of Seneca Falls; many other nieces and nephews; and one great-niece and one great -nephew.
