Obituary of Catherine Joanne Bachman

WATERLOO — Catherine Joanne Bachman, 90, passed away Saturday (November 23, 2024) at the Terrace at Newark, Newark, NY. Family and friends may call 2 PM to 4 PM Friday (Nov. 29) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will immediately follow at 4 PM at the funeral home. Fr. Fennessy, pastor of St. Francis and St. Clare parish, will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo, NY. Catherine was born September 16, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of Manuel and Mary Philips Ramos. She was a graduate of Newark High School. Catherine went on to work as a secretary for various establishments, such as the Newark Developmental Center and Willard Psychiatric Hospital, and Catholic Daughters of America Court Theresa 806, ending her career working for Dr. Li. A woman of faith, Catherine was also a communicant and taught religious education. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Catherine's life revolved around her family. She had great love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine is survived by daughters Mary (Tom) J. Lutz and Cheryl (Kevin) A. O'Donnell of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren Michelle LaBour, James (Gwen) Cole, Paula Dorn, Kristina (Kevin) McDonald, Thomas (Kaitlyn) Lutz, Nicole (David) Cerniglia and Samuel Lutz; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Marie Wilkie. She was predeceased by loving husband James "Si" Bachman in 1988; daughter Laura Coleman; brothers Tony Ramos, Francis Greco and Joseph Greco; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
