FAYETTE — Betty June Stein, 92, of Fayette passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday (October 17, 2024) at Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, NY. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. The graveside service will be 10 AM Thursday (October 24, 2024) in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rochester Regional Hospice, Lifetime Care, 800 W. Miller St., Newark, NY 14513, or Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 200 Douglas Drive, Waterloo, NY 13165. Both agencies played a vital, loving role in Betty's final journey to be reunited with her family who passed before her. Betty was born December 3, 1931, in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Stanley David and Margaret Alice Kuney Beers. Betty worked many years at their family-owned establishments, The Stein in Waterloo, as well as Keady Hotel in Ovid, NY. She was employed with Sylvania and also worked as a maid for Seneca Motel. Betty's greatest treasure was her family. She was a pillar of strength for her family. She set the bar high. She spent many summers watching, and helping to raise her many grandchildren and then later in life, her great grandchildren – all who loved her dearly. She and her husband enjoyed many summers camping with friends, who became family. She was a member of the Waterloo United Methodist Church. Betty is survived by daughter Kathie (Ron Bourne) Stein of Waterloo, NY; sons Clifford (Joanne) Stein and Mark (Marlene) Stein of Waterloo, NY; daughter-in-law Diane Stein of Waterloo, NY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother Brantley (Alberta) Beers of Waterloo, NY; and sister Donna (Ronald) White of Hickory, NC. She was predeceased by the one and only love of her life, her husband, Herman Albert Stein, in 2009; sons Rodney "Rock" Stein and Larry Stein; granddaughter Rebecca Kingston; and brother Stanley Hause Beers.
