JUNIUS — Jean Marguerite (Kellogg) MK Poormon died quietly in the night of October 8, 2024, with two daughters in attendance, after traveling 96 times around the sun.

Jean is survived by five children: Robert M. (Margaret McCormick) Poormon, Roxanne Gupta, Rhonda J. Maxwell, R. Celeste Poormon and Richard P. (Sarah) Poormon, Esq. She also leaves grandchildren: Kapil (Tara Maria) Gupta, Jared Furfey, Luke Furfey, Ricci (John) Fox, Amanda (Kevin Bort) Lynch, Emily G. Kieny, Ashley Furman and Asa Poormon, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Ralph; sisters: Dorothy (Don) Bullivant and Beverly (Joseph) McDonald; sons: Ralph C. Poormon II and Ricky Poormon; grandson Daniel A. Giovannini; granddaughter Johnelle H. Furfey; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

Jean was born on August 22, 1928, in Kendaia, Seneca County, the first child of Milton and Kathleen Kellogg. She graduated from Romulus Central School in 1946 and shortly after went to cosmetology school to become a hairstylist. She held various jobs while raising her family, finally working in the offices of Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Ever the lively (and sometimes edgy) conversationalist, "MK" followed varied interests over her life, from racing cars to small dogs. She was involved with Elks Lodge 992, played bocce ball and euchre, cheered for RCS Warriors basketball, hosted 4-H Club and loved her little dogs, of which she prized several over the years.

Family and friends may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (October 17) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St, Waterloo, N.Y. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday (October 18) at First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, 42 E. Main St., Waterloo, N.Y. Rev. James Gerling will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY
