Obituary of Dallyn Claire Jenkins

WATERLOO/VARICK – Dallyn C. Jenkins, 75, passed away at her home in Varick, Tuesday (October 1, 2024) with her loving family by her side. Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 4) at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 5) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY. Rev. Jeffrey Haugaard, rector of the church, will officiate and Rev. David Hanselman will participate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Dallyn was born June 21, 1949, in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Leon H. and Beverly J. Cox Jenkins. She was a 1967 graduate of Waterloo Central High School. Dallyn graduated in 1972 from Alfred University with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing to be a Registered Nurse, then she earned her Master's degree in Nursing and Physiology at California State University. While in California, Dallyn worked with Dr. Kwan's cardiac surgical team. After leaving the cardiac surgical team she started Jenkins Perfusion, Associates. She taught at UCLA for a number of years. Returning to the Finger Lakes, she owned and operated for many years Beverly's Animal Shelter. She is survived by her brother Martin (Sherrie) Jenkins of Dresden, NY; nephew Martin (Lisa) Jenkins of Dresden, NY; great-nephew Will Jenkins; great-niece Justina Jenkins; aunt Eudora Hickey of Geneva, NY; special cousin Mary Kay Bruzda and many other cousins. Dallyn was predeceased by her parents and stepfather Jack Bruzda.
