Scott was born February 14, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Lester and Melba Rice. He moved to Florida shortly after graduating from high school, where he built a life surrounded by family and friends. As a young man, he was fortunate to find opportunities in various professions, which ultimately led him to work in property management. Through work, he had the occasion to lead several charitable campaigns to raise funds for the Tampa area Ronald McDonald House and the Boys and Girls Club. In his spare time, Scott enjoyed traveling, photography, and landscaping.
Ultimately, Scott's greatest joy in life were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, Scott S. Rice and Brandon (Vanesia) Rice; six grandchildren, all of Lakeland, FL; mother Melba Rice of Waterloo; siblings Larry (Nancy) Rice of Waterloo, NY, Beverly (Tom) Fox of Romulus, NY and Lady Lake, FL; Paul Rice and Kim (Michael) Craig of Waterloo, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Apart from his immediate family, Scott was close to many cousins throughout the country, who will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his father, Lester Rice.
