TYRE/SENECA FALLS – Glenn "Rusty" Sutterby, 87, of Tyre/Seneca Falls, passed away Sunday (February 25, 2024) at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center in Rochester, NY. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday (March 1) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jeannine Biehls will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tyre United Methodist Church, 714 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. Glenn was born June 25, 1936, in Geneva, NY, the son of Kenneth and Lucille Bishop Sutterby. Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1962. He retired after many years of employment with the Carpenters and Millwrights Union. Glenn was a lifetime and active member of the Tyre United Methodist Church. He was the unofficial church caretaker and handyman. Glenn also served on the board of the church. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed working on his home and his yard. He is survived by his daughters Donna (Cort) Godwin of Hillsville, VA and Linda Ring of Seneca Falls, NY; grandchildren Chersti (Kevin) Kuhlmann, Corynn (Justin) Walker, and Emily Godwin; great grandchildren Finn and Jack Kuhlmann; brother Alan Sutterby of Seneca Falls, NY; his special companion Shirley Butler of Waterloo, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his wife Mary P. Sutterby in 2022; and brother James Sutterby.
