WATERLOO —George Francis Cooley, 71, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday (January 31, 2024) at Clifton Springs Hospital with his family by his side.

Family and friends may call 9 AM to 11 AM Thursday (February 8, 2024) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 West Main Street, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Ray Torrey, pastor of Calvary Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery, Seneca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse/Donor Ministries, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607.

George was born September 2, 1952 in Seneca Falls, NY, the son of James Lynn and Angeline Perdicho Cooley. He was raised by grandparents, the late George W. and Minetta R. Cooley, and his father. He went on to become a machinist for Elston Electronics in Geneva, NY for many years. George had a great sense of humor and an uplifting outlook on life even during difficult times. He loved people, animals, and music, but most of the Lord.

George is survived by his wife of 26 years, Manuela "Mandy" Cooley; daughters Amanda Cooley and Rosa Oliver both of Seneca Falls, NY; son James Cooley of Alaska; step-sisters Kathleen Izaguirre of FL and Patricia Lyons of Newark, NY; half-brother Richard (Victoria) Hancy; half-sisters Sherry Hancy and Brenda Law; aunt Gertrude Jones of Seneca Falls, NY; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandparents; father; step-mother Wilver "Peg" Cooley; step-brothers Thomas and Roger Gruba; step-sister Elaine Gruba.
