Obituary of Martha Marie Riek

WATERLOO – Martha M. Riek, 76, formerly of Waterloo, N.Y., passed away peacefully Thursday (November 16, 2023) at her home, in Johnstown, PA, with her loving family by her side. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday (November 22), at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, N.Y. Entombment in a columbarium will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, N.Y., 13165. Martha was born October 9, 1947, in Clifton Springs, N.Y., the daughter, of Lester Palmer, Sr. and Josephine Kralovic White. She was formerly employed with Zotos International in Geneva, NY, and Guaranteed Parts in Seneca Falls, NY. Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed bargain shopping. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, of Clovis, NM. She is survived by her loving husband James E. Riek; sons Christopher (Melanie) Riek of Canandaigua, N.Y. and David M. Riek of Johnstown, PA; daughter Susan (Michael) Laursen of Dundee, N.Y.; grandchildren Kristin, Emily, and Amanda Riek and plus Deniece, Caitlyn, and Nicholas Laursen; great-grandchild Rowan Fray; sister Gloria A. Mott of Waterloo, N.Y. and brother Lester Palmer, Jr. of Geneva, N.Y. Martha was predeceased by her mother Josephine; father Lester; and sister Gail Pans.
