Obituary of Allen Daryl Shaw

SENECA FALLS - Allen D. Shaw, 89, of Seneca Falls, NY passed away Tuesday (October 31, 2023) at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, Clifton Springs, NY, with his loving family by his side. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday (November 4) at Seneca Community Church, 5738 State Route 96, Romulus, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Seneca Community Church or a Christian mission of one's choice. Allen was born December 11, 1933, in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Herman Albert and Tina Viola Klinegartner Shaw. He was a 1951 graduate of Vestal High School. Allen first worked as a plaster mason and went on to work for IBM in Endicott for 27 years as a quality control inspector. He was a longtime member of Seneca Community Church and served as a deacon at the church. Allen enjoyed serving as a Fill In preacher, when needed. He greatly enjoyed fishing and playing his harmonica, and adored the song "As the Deer Panteth for the Water". Allen was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Tommasa "Mazie" Shaw of Seneca Falls, NY; sons David Allen Shaw of Endicott, NY and Timothy "Tim" Shaw of PA; daughter Michelle (Thomas) Carman of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren Amie (David) Libbey, Nicole Holmes, Britton Shaw, Nathan Carman and Rachel Carman; and great-grandchildren Elisha, Anisa, Kayle and Carissa; several nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by his parents; his brother Lance Shaw; and sisters Iris Springer and Patricia Coleman.
