Obituary of Thomas George Cooley

WATERLOO – Thomas G. Cooley, 81, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Friday (August 18, 2023) at Geneva General Hospital. There will be a Celebration of Life from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (September 17) at the Seneca Falls Elks Club, 2221 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY. Rev. Dr. Floyd Marsh, pastor of Harvest Field Baptist Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Tom was born August 15, 1944, in Waterloo, NY, the son of Lewis E. and Myrtle J. Green Cooley. He was a mechanic for several years. Tom later, drove truck for Malcuria Brothers and Riccelli Enterprises, Inc. He was a NSCAR enthusiast and loved playing cards with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 61 of years, Marion M. Elkins Cooley; children Timothy (Michelle) Cooley of Buffalo, NY, Tracy Poindexter of Java, VA, Anne (Michael Osborn) Johnson of Melbourne, FL, Melissa (Garrett) Spina of Geneva, NY, and David (Barbi) Cooley of Merritt Island, FL; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings Albert Cooley of Newark, NY, Jack (Leigh Ann) Cooley of Oswego, NY, Clifford Cooley of N. Rose, NY, and Denise Cooley of Waterloo, NY; aunt Gertrude Jones of Seneca Falls, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
