Obituary of David Garrett

Dundee - David D. Garrett, 72, died Sunday (September 15, 2013) at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday (Sept. 20) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Friday (Sept. 20) at the funeral home. Constance Serrett, a family friend, will celebrate David's life.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, 13148.
David was born Aug. 24, 1941 in Galen, the son of Maynard L. and Iva E. Dailey Garrett. He attended school at Newark Central School District. He enlisted in the Navy, serving from 1958 to 1962. Returning from the service he was employed as a carpenter, until he and his family moved to Dundee. While living in Dundee, he and his family owned and operated Del-Ann Farm, until retiring. David had an appreciation of antiques and fine carpentry. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Dundee.
He is survived by loving wife of 51 years, Sandra A. Garrett; son, David D. (Lisa) Garrett, II, of Bradford, NY; daughter, Kimberly (Timothy) DeFisher, of Tryon, NC; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
