WATERLOO – Linda J. Uerkvitz Darling, 73, passed away Friday (June 30, 2023) at Pathway Home.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday (July 15) at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Home, P. O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY, 13148.

Linda was born March 19, 1950, in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Carl P. and Janet M. Huff Uerkvitz. She was a 1968 graduate of the Waterloo Central High School. She was employed for many years as a clerk for a gas station in Waterloo. She was also a receptionist for Gary's Auto. Later, Linda was employed with Geneva General Hospital for several years. Many knew Linda to be an avid bird watcher and great competitor on Words with Friends.

She is survived by her grandson, whom she raised, Brandon (Caitlin) Smith of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren, Kristina Smith of NY, Samuel (Amanda Krouse) Gurinowich of Ontario, NY, and Mark (Michelle Abeno) Quenan of Seneca Falls, NY; great-grandchildren, Kellin, Amelia, Neryssa, and Matthew; brother, Robert (Linda Sue) Uerkvitz of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law Betty Uerkvitz of Waterloo, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda was predeceased by the love of her life, M. Roger Darling; son, Kevin P. Gurinowich; her parents; brothers, Donald Uerkvitz, James and his wife, Cindy Uerkvitz, and Alan Uerkvitz.
