WATERLOO – Leslie M. King, 68, of Waterloo, NY, passed away at his home, Wednesday (April 19, 2023) with his loving wife by his side. Family and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday (May 1) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (May 2) at the funeral home. Mike Bowen, will officiate the service. Burial will be in New York State Veterans Cemetery – Finger Lakes, Varick, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kirk – Casey American Legion, Post 366, 48 State St., Seneca Falls, NY, 13148. Les was born August 19, 1954, in Lyons, NY, the son of Donald J. and Betty Laribee King. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Les was employed with various Finger Lakes companies. He was a volunteer fireman for the volunteer fire departments in Waterloo, Marion, and Wallington. Les was a former member and past commander of the Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. He is a member of the Kirk – Casey Post 366, American Legion. While a member of the American Legion he served as 2nd Vice Commander for the 7th District. Les was also a member and past commander of the Disable American Veterans. He is survived by his loving wife Amy Sue King; son Cliff Sperry of Louisville, KY; daughter Angelica Donohue of Gallipolis, OH; grandchildren James, Terrance, Jordan and Allyson; many cousins; two nieces and one nephew. Les was predeceased by his parents; brother, Paul; his second wife, Ida L. King; and son Leslie M. King, II. Condolences and remembrances may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
