WATERLOO – Suzanne Jane Buchholz, 56, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester, NY after a hard fought battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. Calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (November 15) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday (November 16) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. Rev. Penny Sutterby, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. Sue was born January 22, 1966, at Taylor Brown Hospital in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Richard E. and Elizabeth J. Bounds Buchholz. She graduated from Waterloo Central High School in 1984. Sue was a 1986 graduate of Bryant and Stratton Institute in Syracuse, NY. She then served her country in the U.S. Navy. After returning from military service, she was employed with various companies throughout the Finger Lakes and Rochester regions including Goulds Pumps, Xylem, Getinge, and Lidestri Foods. Sue was like a second mom to many relatives and close friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family while hosting picnics and holiday parties, including intense games of Scattergories and Phase 10. Sue was well-known for her baking including Christmas cookies, rice krispie treats, and chocolate chip pancakes. She also enjoyed camping and spent many summers in Old Forge, Lake George, and Strawberry Park in Connecticut. She spent many hours in her garden while tending to her rose bushes and hydrangeas plants. She was a caregiver for many relatives and was always committed to serving others before herself. She is survived by her daughter Laura J. Buchholz (Chuck Andre) of Buffalo, NY; granddaughter Elizabeth "Ellie" J. Andre; father Richard E. Buchholz of Waterloo, NY; brother Jeffrey (Heidi) Buchholz of Mystic, CT; sisters Sally (Daniel) Chapman of Geneva, NY and Amy (Thomas) Liscum of Seneca Falls, NY. Sue is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including Brandy Buchholz, Brian Buchholz, Jolene Guzman, Jeremy Buchholz, Stephanie Salevao, Emily Plate, Elaina Plate, Madison Plate, Haileigh Plate, Matthew Quenan, Edward Foulkrod, Daniel Liscum, Elizabeth Liscum, and Bree Liscum. Sue is also survived by several close friends including Tina Adler, Nancy Gilbo, Bob Carroll and her dog, Coty. Suzanne was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth J. Buchholz, her grandparents Carl E. (Honor) Buchholz and Albert (Jane) Sweet, her beloved granddog, Vincent, as well as her uncle and several aunts.
