Waterloo - Eugene Curtis Poormon, 76, of 3632 Yost Rd., died Wednesday (August 21, 2013) at Seneca Nursing And Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo.

Eugene was born June 7, 1937 in Fayette, the son of Asa L. and E. Ida Kidd Poormon. He lived all of his life on the family farm. He was a member of the F. F. A. Club while attending Waterloo High School before he graduated in 1957. For most is life he was a farmer, having rented ground to farm at the age of 12 and buying his first tractor at the age of 16. He also drove school bus for the Waterloo Central School District. He was a life member of the Fayette Fire Dept. and the Waterloo Sportsmans' Club. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo. He was a member of Seneca County Farm Bureau and Cornell Cooperative Extension. He and his wife enjoyed to travel extensively.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Jean Poormon; sons, Douglas (Nadine) Poormon and David (Toni) Poormon both of Marion; grandchildren, Valerie (Brandon) Fountain of Liverpool, Tricia (Charlie Chamberlain) Poormon of Manchester, Bridget (Bill) Keenan of Gananda and Cody Poormon of Marion; great-grandson, Connor Fountain, Scott and Zach Keenan; brothers, Leroy Poormon , Ralph (Jean M.) Poormon, George (Nancy) Poormon all of Waterloo and Benny (Catherine) Poormon of Mesa, AZ; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister, Mary Linebarger; brothers, Edwin, Donald, and Carl Poormon.
