Obituary of Shirley Ann Dressing

WATERLOO – Shirley A. Dressing, 87, passed away peacefully with family by her side Tuesday (July 26, 2022) at the Hildebrandt Center in Rochester, NY.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (August 4) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Rev. Timothy Gleason, pastor of Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY, 14626.
Shirley was born February 2, 1935, in Morristown, NY, the daughter of Sheridan and Edith Leason TenEyck. She was a former employee of Westcott Rule in Seneca Falls, NY, the Waterloo Central School District, and Zotos International. She was a life member of the Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. Auxiliary. Shirley was a protective mother, raising eight children in areas as diverse as Okinawa, Japan and Clarksville, Tennessee. She took enormous pride in keeping up a spotless house and never left a dirty dish in the sink.
She is survived by her loving husband David A. Dressing; children Russel (Melody) Rush of Rome, NY, James Rush of Oswego, NY, Sherry Thibault of Roseburg, OR, Michele Smith of Waterloo, NY, Heath Edward TenEyck of Savannah, NY, David A. (Christina) Dressing of Waterloo, NY, and Michael Dressing of Waterloo, NY; twenty-one grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters Lois Roach of Hurricane, VA, Alta Carlson of Seneca Falls, NY, and Bonnie TenEyck of Waterloo, NY; stepsister Cindy Anderson of Waterloo, NY; sister-in-law Ruth TenEyck; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Carol Rush; brothers Alton and Doug TenEyck; and sisters Rosalie Arhert, Ione TenEyck, Betty Bennett, Phyllis Smith Nedza and Juanita Thomas.
