WATERLOO – Gary G. Veeder, 86, of Waterloo, NY, passed away unexpectedly at home with his wife by his side, Monday (July 25, 2022). Family and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday (July 31) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday (Aug. 1) with Dr. Rev. Floyd Marsh, pastor of Harvest Field Baptist Church in Fayette, NY. Burial will be in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Varick, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Field Baptist Church, P. O. Box 176, Fayette, NY, 13065. Gary was born February 18, 1936, in Clifton Springs, NY, the son of Clarence and Hattie Shoots Veeder. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953 to 1956. Gary was a general contractor, owning and operating Veeder Construction for many years. Retiring from being a contractor, he was bus driver for the Seneca Falls Head Start Program for about five years. He was a member of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. Gary was a former member of the Ovid American Legion Post 463. Gary was a member of Harvest Field Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine; children Gerald "Duce" Veeder of Interlaken, NY; Tanya Veeder of Seneca Falls, NY, Sharon Thomas of California; stepson Sam (Tania) Lanza of Buffalo, NY; stepdaughters Michelle (Erick) Cieri of Waterloo, NY and Lisa (Bruce) Lanza-Daugherty of Ten Mile, FL; sisters Bonnie Thomas of Waterloo, NY and Cathie Cowan of Seattle, WA; stepbrother Jay Shoots of FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his parents; children Sally Bolin and Robert "Fritz" Veeder; and brothers Robert and John Veeder. Condolences and remembrances may sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
