CLYDE/WATERLOO – Walter P. Hefferon, Jr., 87, formerly of Waterloo, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday (May 19, 2022) at his home in Clyde, NY.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday (May 27) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow calling hours at the funeral home. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St. Mary 's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY, 13165.

Walter was born February 17, 1935, in Geneva, NY, the son of Walter P., Sr. and Mazarine Killagrew Hefferon. He retired after 40 years of employment with Libby Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY. He was known for driving stock cars at Waterloo Speedway. Walter loved riding motorcycles. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and also Buffalo Bills games. He was a longtime communicant at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived sons David P. Hefferon of Waterloo, NY, Aaron C. (JoAnn) Heffron of Waterloo, NY, and Timothy C. Hefferon of Skiatook, OK; stepsons Kevin (Stephanie) Maddox of Clyde, NY and Todd Maddox of Collins, NY; grandchildren Tammy (Chris) Butler, Cindy Hefferon, Michael (Karrissa) Hefferon, Patrick Hefferon, Jeremy (Amy) Herman, Aaron (Amanda) Hefferon, Joshua Hefferon, Samantha Maddox, Natalie Maddox, Kollin Maddox, Daymein Maddox; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Charles (Constance Walby) Hefferon of Waterloo, NY; one niece.

Walter was predeceased by his son Walter A. Hefferon; and his significant other Virginia Maddox.
