WATERLOO – Carley Rouse Jr., 83, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Wednesday (March 2, 2022) with his loving family by his side. In keeping with Carley's wishes, there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (April 2) at First Baptist Church of Geneva, 134 N. Main St., Geneva, NY. Rev. Phyllis Granger, pastor of the church, will officiate. Military rites and committal service will be 11 a.m. Monday (April 4) in Sampson Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Geneva, 134 N. Main St., Geneva, NY, 14456 or Pathway Home, P. O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY, 13148. Carley was born November 14, 1938, in Geneva, NY, the son of Carley, Sr., and Mary A. Putnam Rouse. He was a graduate of Waterloo School District. Carley served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 and the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. Returning from the service he was employed with Seneca Army Depot until 1969 to then be employed at the V.A. Medical Center in Canandaigua, until his retirement in 1994. During his retirement from the medical center, he then became a part-time school bus driver for the Waterloo Central School District. Carley was a longtime and active member of First Baptist Church of Geneva. He was also a member of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion in Waterloo. He is survived by his son Carley (Loree) Rouse of Waterloo, NY; daughter Sharon Ragaglia of Stokes, NC; grandchildren George "Buddy" (Elizabeth) Goff, Jeffrey (Melissa) Goff, Meghan (Kyle Young) Rouse, and Morgen (Charlie Hyde) Rouse; great-grandchildren Preston Goff, Aubrey Goff, Braeden Hyde, Madilyn Goff, Hudson Goff, Aiden Rouse, Luke Young and Blaine Young; brother Richard (Judy) Rouse of Waterloo; brother-in-law Keith Tomkins of MacDougall; and his special friend Patricia Panek of Waterloo; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Carley was predeceased by his wife Carol A. Rouse; brothers Donald and Eddie Rouse; and sisters Patty Rouse and Dorothy Tomkins. The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Newark Manor Nursing Home for their amazing care and compassion that they provided.
