Obituary of Gary Stephen Yaw

WATERLOO – Gary S. Yaw, 73, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Thursday (November 4, 2021) at Corning Hospital with family by his side. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday (November 15) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Rev. Ellen Donnan, pastor of Junius Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Varick, NY. In lieu of flowers, Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Gary was born October 18, 1948, in Seneca Falls, NY, the son of George F. and Margaret E. Shoots Yaw. He was a graduate of Romulus High School. Gary was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee for Goulds Pumps, Inc. and Seneca Machine Company. Later, he owned and operated Gary's Home Improvement. He is survived by children Kenneth Yaw of Rochester, NY, Shannon Yaw of Florida, Robert Yaw of Holley, NY, David Yaw of Seneca Falls, NY, and Jessica Campbell of Seneca Falls, NY; stepdaughter Peggy (Tom) Cole of Waterloo, NY; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Betty (Ronald) Green of Geneva, NY; sister-in-law of Linda Yaw of Romulus, NY; brother-in-law Corky Craig of Waterloo, NY; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
