Waterloo - William O. VanNostrand, 84, of 2775 Rt. 96 South, died Friday (July 5, 2013), after a courageous battle with cancer, at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester. Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday (July 9) at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. A memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 9) by the Seneca Falls Elks Club, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (July 10) at the funeral home. Rev. Nancy Bidlespacher, retired pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, 42 E. Main St., Waterloo, 13165, Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, 14426, or Waterloo Sportsman Club, P.O. Box 269. Waterloo, 13165. Bill was born June 22, 1929 in Seneca Falls, the son of Clayton E. and Bertha I. Godfrey VanNostrand. He was a 1947 graduate Waterloo High School and president of the class. He worked and co-owned the family farm, in Fayette, until retiring in 1980. He was Fayette Town Justice from 1969 to 1985. He was a member of the Seneca County Farm Bureau, Fayette Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca County Magistrates Association, Waterloo Lions Club, life member of the Seneca Falls Elks Club, life member the Waterloo Sportsman Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille Kelly VanNostrand; sons, David "Jay" (Jean) VanNostrand of Boulder, CO, Clayton (Deborah) VanNostrand and Thomas Arthur VanNostrand both of Waterloo; grandchildren, Shawn, Scott, Corinne, and Lindsay Van Nostrand, Kelly (Matt) Valenti, Matthew (Stephanie) VanNostrand, Brent Doyle and Crystal Doyle; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Louise) VanNostrand of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Wayne and Linda Brewer. He was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, B. Irene (Harold) Pierie and H. Lorraine (Arthur) Schroeder. Condolences for the family may be sent to coegenungfuneralhome.com
