VARICK/CANANDAIGUA – Helen H. Kidd, 95, of 174 Clark Meadows, Canandaigua, formerly of Varick, passed away Saturday (August 28, 2021) at the home of her daughter, Joan Gull in Acworth, GA.
Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. David Kidd, son of Helen, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Green Cemetery, Romulus, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Finger Lakes Bible Church, PO Box 374, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
Helen was born June 10, 1926, in Hayts Corners, NY, the daughter of Carlton and Frances VanDerveer Howard. She was a graduate of Ovid Central School. Helen attended one year at Bob Jones University and two years at Houghton College where she majored in music. Helen was a busy homemaker, raising 6 children while helping her pastor husband, Richard M. Kidd, with his ministry at the Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury where they served for 36 years. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She also served with her husband for 7 years while he pastored the Finger Lakes Baptist Church in Seneca Co. NY. Together they traveled to Israel, Greece, Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, Sedona, and numerous other places.
She is survived by her sons Richard L. (Myra) Kidd of Greencastle, PA, Donald (Marian) Kidd of Huntingdon, PA, David (Leaann) Kidd of Romulus, NY and Daniel (Kim) Kidd of New Freedom, PA; daughters Joan (Randy) Gull of Acworth, GA and Lisa (Paul) Brown of Spanish Fort, AL; twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
