WATERLOO - Viktor Orlov, 90, of Waterloo, NY, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday (August 8, 2021). In keeping with the wishes of his family, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private service for the family. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. Viktor was born September 10, 1930, in the Republic of Mordorvia, Russia, the son of Ivan Orlov and Natalia Demidova Orlov. During his youth he served in the armed forces in the border patrol unit at the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan. That is the time he encountered "Luzhok" a border patrol horse, who he fell in love and later tragically lost. Viktor worked for the Institute of Projects for the City of Novosibirsk, Russia. He was an avid cook throughout his life. Along with other members of his family, Viktor immigrated to the United States in 1995. In the past couple of years, he made the Finger Lakes area his home. He is survived by his daughters Larisa Orlov of Waterloo, NY, Galina Alexandrov of Belarus, and Helen (Paul) Komov of Castro Valley, CA; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
