Obituary of Lester William Fillingham

GENEVA – Lester "Les" W. Fillingham, 51, of Geneva, NY, died unexpectedly Monday (May 24, 2021) in the Town of Geneva.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 1, 2021) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo. The memorial service and military honors will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Dale Andrews, pastor of Assembly of God Church in Geneva, will officiate.
As a request of the family, all attending calling hours and/or memorial service MUST wear facemasks and use hand sanitizer. All must enter the funeral home through the parking lot doors and exit through the Main St. doors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train, 633 3rd Ave., 9th Floor, New York, NY, 10017.
Les was born April 14, 1970, in Geneva, NY, the son of Lester C. and Gloria J. Gillette Fillingham. He was a 1988 graduate of Waterloo Central High School. Les served in the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1995. He has been employed with NYSEG for many years. Les was a longtime volunteer for the Serven Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Seeley B. Parish Post 457, American Legion in Phelps, NY. Les was a charter member of and secretary for Chapter 457 American Legion Riders. One of Les's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Gina M. Anthony Fillingham; daughter Chantel (Ben) Springer of Phelps, NY; son Michael (Christine) Rosato of Geneva, NY; grandchildren Vincentino, Angelina, and Audrielle Springer and Mariana Rosato; mother Gloria Gillette of Geneva, NY; father Lester C. Fillingham of Waterloo, NY; sisters Lisa Fillingham and Taylor Higgins both of Geneva, NY; sister-in-law Lisa Anthony of Geneva, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Les was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Arthur and Ruth Fillingham; maternal grandparents Nelson and Esther Gillette; and maternal step-grandfather Fred Sherman; sister-in-law Kim Anthony Smeatin; and his loving canine companion Bella Rosa Marie Fillingham.
