ROMULUS – Jayne Rochelle McDonald passed away quietly in her home on May 5, 2021. Jayne was born April 1, 1961 and was the exceptional wife of William Casey McDonald. She was bonus mom to Joanna McDonald, Nicholas McDonald, Brendan McDonald and Emily Susanna McDonald. Born in Wilmington, DE, she attended Tatnall School and High Point University in North Carolina. She was an avid embroideress, having studied at the Royal School of Embroidery at Hampton Court Palace in London. Her love of fashion was evident in all aspects of her life. She was also a running enthusiast having completed the Boston Marathon with her husband in 2009. The loving daughter of John "Jack" Simpson and Kay Baker, and sister to Rusty Simpson. Jayne was "Porkchop" to her husband and he was her "Peanut". Her life was filled with loving animals. Cooper and Lucy, her Maine Coon Cats, were her daily joy and Winston, an 80 pound Golden Retriever, her lap dog. Jayne's sweet soul and kindest heart will be missed by all who knew her. Her husband is dedicating a memorial redbud tree and rose garden in her honor at their home and welcomes contributions from family and friends. Her cremated remains will be interred at Mt. Green Cemetery in Romulus in a ceramic urn fashioned by her husband. A private ceremony is planned. Condolences and remembrances may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
