Obituary of Evelyn Ann Chiodo

ROMULUS – Evelyn A. Galletti Chiodo, 91, passed away peacefully at home Sunday (March 14, 2021).
Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday (March 18) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow calling hours at the funeral home. Rev. Bernard Maloney, pastor of the Parish of Mary, Mother of Mercy, will officiate.
Those attending calling hours and or memorial service MUST wear face masks and social distance. All MUST enter the funeral home from the parking lot entrance and exit the funeral home through the front doors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, P. O. Box 97089, Washington, DC, 20090-7089.
Evie was born September 27, 1929, in Seneca Falls, NY, the daughter of Silvio and Emelia Gidoni Galletti. She was a 1957 graduate of American School in Chicago, Ill. Evie later graduated with a degree in nursing. She was employed with the Seneca Falls Hospital and later, retired from Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo.
She was very active and longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross teaching swimming for 60 years to 10,000 kids. Evie was a communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ovid, NY. She was loved by many and known as "Aunt Evie".
She is survived by sons Samuel "Skip" (Kristina) Chiodo of Riverview, Florida and Jeffrey (Christine Tracy) Chiodo of Skaneateles, NY; grandson Samuel Chiodo, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Evie was predeceased by her husband Santo "Sam" A. Chiodo; three sisters and a brother.
