Waterloo - Robert "Waboo" James Jennings, 80, of 4233 St. Rte. 96, died Thursday (June 20, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, surrounded by his loving family.
In keeping with the family's wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Lifetime Care, Hospice of Wayne & Seneca Counties, 3111 Winton Rd. South, Rochester, NY, 14623-9915.
Robert was born January 28, 1933 in Romulus, the son of Jesse C. and Marion Landis Jennings. He attended Romulus Central School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Returning from the service, he was employed at the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, for a few years. Leaving employment at the depot, he was employed at Utica Club Brewery, for a couple of years. He later became employed with various companies that installed various types of pipelines for communities in different states. The last company he was employed with was InterCounty in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was an avid basketball and baseball player. He also enjoyed bowling and deep sea fishings. While his family lived in the Adirondacks he enjoyed snowmobiling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly Lerch Jennings; son, Michael (Christine Heckman) Jennings of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Michele (David Freeman) Jennings of Waterloo; grandchildren, Amanda Jennings, Phillip Jennings, Bridgette Jennings, Sara (William Waugh) Bulger and Emily Bulger; great-grandchildren, Steven Cadet Waugh, Peyton Jennings and Jordyn McCormick; brother, Allen (Alberta) Jennings of Romulus; and sister, Eleanor (Harold) Snyder of Seneca Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son-in-law, Steven Bulger; one granddaughter, Holly Bulger; brothers, Ronald Jennings and Lawrence Jennings; sisters Elsie Smanski and Barbara Elliotto.
