PHELPS – Viona "Vi" Schroeder, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday (February 23, 2021) at the home of her daughter, Patcy, with family by her side. Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday (March 1) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be private. Spring burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Phelps, NY. Those attending visitation MUST wear face masks and enter the funeral home from the parking lot. Face masks will be worn in the funeral home and social distancing observed. Those leaving the funeral home will leave through the Main St. doors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY, 14456-1336 or the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY, 14620. Vi was born January 6, 1935, in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Ludwig and Elma K. Adler Schweitz. She graduated as Salutatorian for the Class of 1951 from Waterloo High School. She was also a graduate of FLCC with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. During Vi's many years of employment she worked for various Finger Lakes Companies. She had been employed with the First National Bank of Waterloo, Security Trust in Phelps, Silver Floss Sauerkraut Co., Ederlee, Richardson Foods, church secretary for Calvary Lutheran Church, and Ontario County Office for the Aging. Vi was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church and very devoted to her daily devotions guiding her in living her Christian life. She was an Ontario County 4-H leader in Phelps. Vi was an avid quilter. She is survived by her daughters Patcy Corey of Phelps, NY and Nancy (Gregg) Crume of Canandiagua, NY; son William (Deborah) Schroeder of Geneva, NY; granddaughters Raevin Wheeler and Brinncin Wheeler both of Phelps, NY, and Gretta Crume of Canandiagua, NY; great granddaughter Cora Cheney; brother Lannie Schweitz of Waterloo, NY; sister Evonne (Gary) Chave of Waterloo, NY; beloved aunt Ella Adler of Waterloo, NY; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and Godchildren Cindy Fratto, Tracey Beary, Randy Adler, and Mark Adler.
