Waterloo/Geneva - Frederick James Irland, 73, of 3430 Woodworth Rd., died Monday (September 17, 2012) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a brief illness.
In keeping with Fred's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. We invite all of our friends and family to a celebration of Fred's life from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m Saturday (Sept. 22) at Ciccino's Banquet Room, 22 E. Main St., Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Box 704, Rochester, NY, 14642.
Fred was born Nov. 29, 1938 in Fayette, the son of Richard L. and Agnes Mudge Irland. He attended Waterloo High School. Fred was employed for many years with United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 187. He was a man of many talents and skills.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Garrett Irland; daughters: Tracy Dessis of Farmington, Brenda (James) Vreeland of Penfield, and Kimberly (David Spencer) Woehr of Pittsford; grandchildren: Zoe Dessis, Maximo Dessis, Hannah Vreeland, Alex Vreeland, and Aidan Woehr; brother: Curtis Irland of Seneca Falls; sister: Muriel Brown of Waterloo; cousins, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother: Richard Irland; sisters: Dorothy Brown, Elsie Brown, Catherine Breese, and Alice Glanville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo.
