Penn Yan – Wendy L. Winters Miller, 47 of Penn Yan, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday (Nov. 22, 2018) at F. F. Thompson Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (Nov. 26) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 27) at Waterloo Baptist Church, 2701 St. Rt. 96, Waterloo, NY. Rev. David Underwood, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery, Bellona, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sands Cancer Center, 395 West St., #101, Canandaigua, NY, 14424.
Wendy was born Feb. 18, 1971, in Geneva, NY, the daughter of Jon and Phyllis Heaton Winters. She was a 1989 graduate of Waterloo High School. Wendy was also a graduate of St. John Fishers College with her Registered Nurses degree. She was employed as a nurse in the emergency department at F. F. Thompson Hospital. Wendy had a long passion for the nursing profession. She was the founder of the Finger Lakes Lunachicks Roller Derby Team.
She is survived by her children, Britani (Brandon) Rose of Geneva, NY, Brent (Chyane) Miller of Sodus Point, NY, Justin (Samantha) Miller of Waterloo, NY, and Cody Miller of Geneva, NY; grandchildren, Quinn and Lucas Miller; her parents, Jon and Phyllis Winters of Geneva, NY; brother, Jon (Tracey) Winters, II of Seneca Falls, NY; nephews, Isaiah and Levi Winters; the love of her life and his family, Mark E. Preston of Penn Yan, NY, his sons, Mark Henry Preston and Christopher James Preston, and Mark's mother, Carol Preston of Seneca Castle, NY; her much beloved cousin, Rhonda (Brian) Solomon of Waterloo, NY; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends; and Theo, the cat.
