Obituary of Barbara Gray

Waterloo - Barbara H. Gray, 78, of 23 West St., died Monday (March 4, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital with her loving family by her side. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday (March 9) at the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls. Rev. Leah Ntuala, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Waterloo Library 31 E. River Rd., Waterloo, 13165 or a charity of your choice. Barbara was born October 31, 1934 in Emporium, PA the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Hertig Hemphill. She moved to Waterloo with her family in her early high school years, later graduating from Waterloo High School in 1952. She worked for over 30 years at Waterloo High School until her retirement in 2000. She was currently president of the Phi Beta Psi sorority. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls with her husband. She volunteered for the Waterloo Library and Relay for Life. She was also a member of the Seneca Falls Reading Club and the Waterloo Research Club. She enjoyed her flower gardens, playing cards, reading, crafts, and shopping. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Gerald Gray, one son: Steven (Beth) Gray of Seneca Falls, one daughter: Cindi (David) Dawley of Seneca Falls, six grandchildren: Kyle, Kurtis, and Keith Dawley, Stephanie (Rodney) Ellerstein, Kaitlin and Kimberly Gray, one sister: Amy Scheuerman of Pinehurst, N.C., her beloved pet Abbie, her extended Gray Family, and many nieces and nephews.
