Obituary of Donald Cook

Waterloo – Donald "Cookie" K. Cook, 90, of 2515 Brewer Rd., died Tuesday (July 24, 2018) at Geneva General Hospital.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday (July 28) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Rev. Val White, pastor of Seneca Falls United Methodist Church, will officiate. Military rites will be by members of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion in the cemetery. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice.

Don was born March 17, 1928, in Geneva, NY, the son of Charles K. and Thelma Kinney Cook. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving at the end of W.W. II. Don began working for Brady Ice Co. in Geneva, NY. Leaving the ice company he was employed with Burns Genesee Distributing Company in Seneca Falls, NY. Later, he retired from Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls after twenty-nine and a half years of employment. He was a member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V. F. W. and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion. Don was also a member of Seneca Falls Elks Club and the Finger Lakes Moose Club.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Dee Dee Connors of Waterloo; her children; step-daughter, Donna (Karl) Kisner of Waterloo, NY; five step-grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; three step great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his wife, Irene Cook; son, Terrance; step-son, Roger Serven; brother, Jack Cook; and sisters, Betty Marsh and Virginia Jones.
