Obituary of Janet Murphy

Seneca Falls - Janet Ann Jaques Murphy, 86, of 190 Falls St., died Sunday (February 17, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call on Saturday (Feb. 23) from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. (Feb. 23) at the church. Rev. William Dorow, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 2414 Route 414, Waterloo, 13165 or Boy Scouts of America, Troop 80, 59 Falls Street, Seneca Falls, 13148. Janet was born June 16, 1926 in Buffalo, the daughter of William and Catherine Gross Jaques. She graduated form Buffalo High School, #48 and the Millard Fillmore School of Nursing in 1950 as an RN. She worked at the Seneca Falls Hospital for many years before working at Seneca Nursing Home in Waterloo, from which she retired. She volunteered and worked as a store manager for the House of Concern in Seneca Falls. She had been a member of Calvary Lutheran Church since 1973. She loved to read books about food and healthy cooking and crochet in her spare time. She also loved her cats. She is survived by one daughter: Lynn (Kenneth) Campbell of Seneca Falls, one son: John "Jay" (Priscilla D'Anniballe) Murphy of Toledo, OH, five grandchildren: Jeremy (Stacy Peters) Campbell of Elliott City, MD, Kenneth Campbell, of Seneca Falls, Jason and Justin Murphy of Los Angeles, CA, and Jodi Crawford of Atlanta, GA, one great-granddaughter: Bailey Crawford, one brother: Robert Jaques of Town of Tonawanda, one niece: Patricia (Edward) Aldridge, and two nephews: David (Noreen) Jaques, and James Jaques. She was predeceased by her husband Porter W. Murphy in 1985, two brothers: Donald and Kenneth Jaques. Condolences may be left for the family at coegenungfuneralhome.com
