Seneca Falls – Daniel A. Barto, Sr. 74, died Tuesday (May 22, 2018) in Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday (May 31) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday (June 1) at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Haugaard, of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Waterloo officiating. Burial will be in Fayette Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 E. William St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Daniel was born June 6, 1943 in Waterloo, the son of Richard and Ellen Stahlnecker Barto. He attended Waterloo High School. He was employed at Sylvania and later retired from Gould ITT after many years. Daniel was best known for his nickname "Spanky." He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially the serenity at the family farm. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois A. Sarratori Barto; daughters, Bernadette (Susano) Rivera, and Patricia (Ken Arnold) Thorpe; son, Daniel A. Barto, Jr.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Lois) Barto, Duane (Marilyn) Barto, Steven (Karen) Barto, Edward (Rose Mary) Barto; sisters, Shirley Clancy, Eleanor Hardway, Maureen Fisher, Kathleen Monet, Beverly Chambers, and Carol (Melvin) Brown; many nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by granddaughter, Jessica Barto, brothers, Richard and William Barto, sisters, Dorothy Schibley, Rosalie Alongi, Mary Barto and Patricia Barto.
