OCALA, FL/Waterloo – John "Jack" H. Brignall, 77, died Sunday (February 25, 2018) at Huntington Living Center with his loving family by his side. Friends may call from 4 to 7p.m. Thursday (March 1) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The committal service will be 1 p.m. Friday (March 2) at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Varick, N.Y. The Rev. Sarah West, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, Capital Campaign, 42 E. Main St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Jack was born March 17, 1940,in Waterloo, N.Y., the son of Phillip and Dora Jensen Brignall. He was a 1958 graduate of Waterloo High School. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. Returning from the service, Jack began working with the American Can Co. in Geneva, NY. He left employment at the American Can Co. to work for NYSEG. Jack retired in 1996. During his retirement, Jack enjoyed summers in the Finger Lakes and winters in Ocala, Fla. He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo and a member of the Ocala Presbyterian Church. Jack was a former member of Geneva Lodge 956 F. & A.M. He was an avid bowler and bowled a 300 game as recently as 2015. He is survived by his son, Alan (Lisa) Brignall of Geneva, N.Y.; daughter, Amy (Bill) Brignall of Williamson, N.Y.; grandson, Gavin Brignall; brother, Merlin (Kathee) Brignall of Goose Creek, S.C.; sister, Donna Ellison of Waterloo, N.Y.; and a special companion, Sharon Powers of Waterloo, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
