Waterloo – Kathryn B. Porter, affectionately known by many as "Grandma", 96, of 1285 Dublin Rd., died Tuesday (December 19, 2017) at home with her loving family by her side. At Kathryn's request there were no calling hours and a private service was held with Rev. Floyd Marsh, pastor of Harvest Field Baptist Church officiating. Kathryn was born February 5, 1921, in Clyde, the daughter of Charles and Dorothea Buisch Porter. She was a graduate of Clyde High School. After her marriage to Robert she helped with the family farm. She loved gardening and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Jean (Joseph) Kime and Barbara (James) Laird both of Waterloo; grandchildren, James (Theresa) Laird, Jr., Jeffrey (Jennifer) Laird, Brian (Terry Ison) Laird, Kim Laird, Kristine (Keith) VanDuyne, Robert (Becky) Kime, Joseph (Katrina) Kime; great-grandchildren, Torie, Brianna, Rachel Laird, Katie and Kyle VanDuyne, Kristina, Allison, Olivia Laird, Hannah and Emily Laird, Grace and Owen Kime, Lilly and Maddox Kime; sister, Elizabeth Miller of Lock Berlin, NY, special niece, Louise Bush and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, brothers, Karl, Bill and Ed Kaiser; sister, Mabel Mead. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
