Seneca Falls – Ronald H. Rapoza, 76, of 12 Clinton St., died Sunday (Sept. 10, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital. There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 16) at Lt. Cyrus Garnsey Post 1323, VFW, 47 Fall St., Seneca Falls, NY. The committal service will 1 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Varick, NY. Michael Bowen, friend of 35 years, will be officiant for the Celebration of Life and committal service. Ron was born May 13, 1941, in Fall River, MA, the son of Oliver and Ruth Lucier Rapoza. He attended Siman Vocational High Schoool. Ron served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962, as a member of the Air Force Security Police. Returning from the service, he was employed with Holokrome Corp in E. Hartford, CT. Moving to the Finger Lakes area he was employed at Stolps Machine Shop in Geneva, NY, for many years before being employed at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls, NY for many years, until his retirement. Ron was a member and past commander of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion in Waterloo, NY. He was also a member, past commander, and past district commander of Lt. Cyrus Garnsey Post 1323 VFW. Ron was employed as club steward at the Lt. Cyrus Garnsey VFW. He is survived by his common law wife, Teresa DeMonstoy; children, Paula M. Rapoza Lipker of Seneca Falls, NY, RJ (Steven Hornbeck) Rapoza of Geneva, NY, Michelle (Brian) Maney of Phelps, NY, Sherry (Brian) Sanderson of Walworth, NY, and Shawn (Sue White) Clark of Waterloo, NY; stepchildren, Rachelle Poole of Waterloo, NY, Blue DeMonstoy of Seneca Falls, and Louinn Twitchell of Waterloo, NY; many grandchildren; brother, George Raposa of Groton, CT; sister, Barbara (Michael) Tamaren of Springfield, MA; many nieces and nephews.
