George Irving Gable WATERLOO– George Irving Gable, 78, died Monday (February 20,2017) at his home. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to theAmerican Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY, 14620. George was born Dec. 15, 1938 in Seneca Falls, N.Y., the son of Irving J. and Elma S. Demont Gable. George was a 1956 graduate of Romulus High School, President of his class, and member of the National Honor Society. He obtained his Bachelors and Masters degree at State University College at Oswego. George was an Industrial Arts Teacher at Bloomfield Central School for 8 years and later at Seneca Falls Middle School, retiring in 1995. In 1995, George was awarded the Excellance Award for 35 years of outstanding service and dedication to Industrial Arts and Technology Education. Upon retirement, he was a professional beekeeper, hobby craftsman and furniture maker. He left many momentos behind that family cherishes. George was active in the Bloomfield Lions Club and theater group. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth "Betty" A. Gable; daughter, Kimberly L. (Kenny) Maines, Jr. of Waterloo; granddaughters Shelby and Ashley Maines; great-granddaughter, Callie R. Bell; brothers Wayne D. Gable of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Dallis C. (Marion) Gable of Romulus, and Walter J. Gable of Seneca Falls; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce M. Gable.
