Obituary of Barbara Alice Poormon

AUBURN/SENECA FALLS - Barbara A. Poormon, 84, formerly of Auburn and Seneca Falls, died Thursday (April 21, 2016) in Geneva General Hospital. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday (April 28) at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. Rev. Mark Minkek, associate pastor of Auburn Alliance Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seneca Nursing Home, 200 Douglas Dr., Waterloo, NY, 13165 or to Auburn Alliance Church, 630 N. Seward Ave., Auburn, NY 13021. Barbara was born August 31, 1931, in Seneca Falls, the daughter of George E. and Nellie M. Beerse DeWall. She was employed at Big N in Waterloo as the restaurant manager. Leaving employment with Big N, she was employed at the Ye Olde Feed Bag Restaurant at the former Ye Olde Wood Shoppe Village in Waterloo. Barb was an amazing woman and the memories of how loving she was will never fade. She is in such a peaceful, beautiful place now. So go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done, go to heaven singin' love for the Father and the Son. She is survived by sons, Daniel (Tina M.) Poormon of Seneca Falls, Karson Poormon of Lexington, Texas, and Curtis (Rosemarie) Poormon of Mineral, Va.; daughters, Nellie (Anthony) Grandberry of San Antonio, Texas, Rebekah (David) Ketchum of Auburn, N.Y., Victoria Trout of Pensacola, Fla., and Cindee (Ted) Kennet of Lancaster, Pa.; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, George ""Butch"" DeWall of Seneca Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
