Waterloo – Emory W. White, Jr., 77, of 719 Waterloo-Geneva Rd., died Wednesday (April 6, 2016) at Rochester General Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday (April 12) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (April 13) at the funeral home. Rev. Laura Calos, pastor of United Methodist Church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1631 Arlington Rd., 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814. Emory was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Spring Township, Pa., the son of Emory W. and Ivyalue M. Barr White, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country from 1958-1962. Emory and his wife, Judy married March 26, 1960 in Fayette Federated Church. He held many jobs during his years of employment. He began working at Halls Bakery, later, worked at the American Can as a machinist. His principal career of 27 years was working at NYSEG, retiring in 2000. While working for NYSEG he and his wife owned and operated Park Place Auto in Waterloo. Emory was a diehard Penn State Fan and spent over 40 years as a season ticket holder and usher. He will be remembered by many in Waterloo for the number of years he dedicated to Little and Senior Leagues as a coach and umpire. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Emory will also be remembered for his great sense of humor! He will be missed in so many ways; his strength, his passion for his family, his friends, life – but most passionately his adoring wife, Judy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith E. Maynard White; son, Emory W. (Jill Hill) White, III of Altadena, CA; daughter, Trina (John Iles) White of Waterloo; brother, Barry (Carol) White of Lehigh Acres, FL; uncle, Philip Barr of Henderson, NV; many nieces and nephews. Emory was predeceased by one son, Bryan L. White, who died July 6, 1973. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
