Waterloo - Armeda M. "Sam" Mastellar, 76, of Waterloo, died Friday (February 19) at Geneva General Hospital Geneva, with her loving family by her side. Friends may call 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 23) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Joslyn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, N.Y. 14450 Armeda was born Feb. 11, 1940 in Waterloo, the daughter of Kenneth and Pearl Smith Edington. She was a graduate of Phelps High School and Rochester General Nursing program. She taught at Marion S. Whelan for 2 years, was Nursing Supervisor at Geneva General Hospital and at Taylor Brown Memorial Hospital was an on-site Administrator. Using Armeda's nursing and supervisory skills, she was involved with opening area health centers. She loved doing needle point, gardening and had a great love for her pets. She is survived by daughters, Jan (Ken) Keuer and Barbara Mitchell both of Waterloo; son, John (Fran) Mastellar, Sr, of Waterloo; sisters, Kay Parmelee of Waterloo and Helen (Stanley) Maines of Phelps; grandchildren, Jason (Chastity) Keuer, Adam (Kristy) Keuer, Jeffrey, Paul and Brandee Keuer, Melissa Nielsen and John (Ciara) Mastellar Jr., eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jay R. Mastellar and sister, Edith Swanson. Condolences may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
