Waterloo - Rose M. Cuddeback Wright, 71, of Waterloo, died Sunday (December 2, 2012) at Clifton Springs Hospital And Clinic in Clifton Springs with her family by her side. In keeping with Rose's wishes there will be no prior calling hours. The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 5) at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. Rev. James Fennessy will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo, 13165. Rose was born February 17, 1941 in Waterloo, the daughter of Chester J and Mary Spink Cuddeback, Sr.. She was a 1960 graduate of Waterloo High School. She began hairdressing in 1961 for Mrs. Briggs at Brigg's Beauty Shop then owned and operated Rose Cuddeback's Beauty Shop for many years. She was also known for the apple stand in front of her home in the fall, which led to her being known as "the apple lady". She also worked many other jobs, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo, and was the first President for the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Dept. Aux. She is survived by one brother: Chester J. Cuddeback, Jr. (Peggy Rea) of Waterloo, four sisters: Shirley Rickerson, Mary Neve, Sandy (Henry) Dressing all of Waterloo and Margaret (Richard) Worden of Seneca Falls, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Harry Wright on Nov. 14, 2010, one sister: Pat McCann of Geneva. Condolences may be sent to the family at coegenungfuneralhome.com
