SENECA FALLS - Sarah Jane "Sally" Porsch, 90, of Seneca Falls passed away on Tuesday (May 26, 2015) at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys, Pennsylvania.
Calling hours will be observed on Friday (May 29) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo. The Rev. Leah Ntuala, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, will officiate. Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
Sally was born in Emporium Penn. on June 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Editha and William Armstrong. She graduated from high school in Emporium in 1942 and then graduated from the Orra Jean Beauty Academy in Erie, Penn. In 1947, she married the late Allan Porsch. She worked many years at GTE Sylvania in Emporium and Seneca Falls, and later as a home health aide for several local families. Sally was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, and SenecaCayuga ARC. Sally was loving, kind, and generous to all she knew. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling around the world.
Sally is survived by five children: Raymond Porsch (Susan) of Johnstown, Penn., Marilyn Erickson (Eric) of Emporium, Penn., Allan Curtis Porsch of Waterloo, Barry Porsch (Kathleen) of Seneca Falls, and Lesley Clark of San Pedro, Calif.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Marcia Kronenwetter of Lyons, and Laura Vogt of Irvine, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend and caregiver, Nancy Cordovani of Waterloo.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1987; daughter, Jene Younkin, in 2014; sister, Hetty Sutka, in 2011; and brother, William Armstrong, Jr., in 1945.
