Waterloo - Ralph James Garafalo, Jr., 58, of Waterloo, died Wednesday (March 25, 2015) at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic in Clifton Springs, with his loving family by his side.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (March 31) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (April 1) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St.Francis/St. Clare Parish, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY, 13165.
Ralph was born December 9, 1956 in Geneva, the son of Ralph J., Sr. and Jennie Stirpe Garofalo. He was a 1975 graduate of Waterloo High School. Ralph began employment with Goulds Pumps, where he was employed for a while. Then he worked for NYS Canal System. Later, he was self-employed as a carpenter for many years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by fiancee, Linda J. Swick of Geneva; children, Christopher Garafalo of W. Seneca, Tyler Garafalo of Auburn, and Kimberly J. Garafalo of Syracuse; Linda's daughter, Ashleigh Picarro of Geneva; two grandchildren, Roman Joseph and Gianna Rose; sisters, Rose (Massimo) Giovannini of Seneca Falls, Carol Garafalo of Waterloo and Marie (Eugene) Palmer of Lyons; twin brother, Richard Garafalo of Waterloo and brother, Stephen (Heather) Garafalo of Friendswood, TX; uncle, Peter (Donna) Stirpe of Lyons; aunts, Jane (William) DeGregorio of Tweksberry, Mass; Louise Bertino of Florida, Mary Calabra of Webster, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ralph was predeceased by parents.
