Geneva - Pearl I. Edington Forsythe, 99, formerly of Geneva, died Wednesday (March 11, 2015) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. (March 14) at Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church, Co. Rd. 6. Rev. Diana Russell, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Joslyn Cemetery in Oaks Corners. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice. Pearl was born February 16, 1916 in Phelps, the daughter of Jesse J. and Bertha M. Bryant Smith. She was a 1934 graduate of Phelps Union and Classical School. Pearl graduated from the Marion Whalen School of Nursing in 1964. She worked as a nurse for 16 years at Geneva General Hospital, retiring in 1981. Pearl was former member of Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church and member of Geneva Senior Citizens. She is survived by daughters, Helen (Stanley) Maines of Phelps, Armeda Mastellar and Kay Parmelee both of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Smith of Clifton Springs; and Nina (Ralph) Campbell of Lincoln, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Kenneth Edington, who died in 1956 and second husband, John Forsythe, who died in 1975; and one daughter, Edith Swanson who died 2012.
