Romulus - William Carl Heitmann, 83, of 1756 Kuney Rd., died Friday (February 13, 2015) at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, with loving family by his side. There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 21) at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Lexa Leipe, pastor, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Snell Rd., Geneva, NY, 14456. Bill was born April 30, 1931, in Waterloo, the son of Carl and Martha Olsowske Heitmann. He was a graduate of Romulus High School. After he graduated he was employed on the family farm. Later he purchased his own farm, which he and his family worked. While owning his farm he began his bulldozing business. He worked projects for Seneca County Soil and Water Conservation. Bill was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was an active assisting minister for many years, sang in the church choir and chaired the mens group. He also enjoyed singing with Seneca Singers. For many years he was a 4 - H leader for Seneca County. He drove school bus driver for Romulus Central School and later, drove for Lakeview Mental Health Services. Bill also was a partner in a Lobster Co-op in Maine for a couple of years. He is survived by sons, Kim (Karen) Heitmann of Penn Yan and Craig (Tammy Bachman) Heitmann of Savannah; daughters, Tracey (Frederick) Beary and Lisa (Glenn Hudson) Heitmann of Romulus; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Heitmann of Malta, NY; cousins; many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Barbara A. Heitmann, who died Feb. 7, 2014; three brothers, Harold, Alfred, and Kenneth Heitmann.
